Just wanted to comment on the pain meds. I take vicoprofen which is
hydrocodone and ibuprofen. They come only in 7.5 mgs. I specifically
asked my doctor for them after reading about them on the internet. I
go to a CML specialist and he is now writing my script as my primary
care doctor can no longer write for pain meds. I did without them for
3 weeks and have been taking them since Feb. 2004 and did not suffer
any withdrawl...only pain. They work wonderful for the bone and joint
pain I have. My husband suffers from chronic pain and takes oxycontin
for several years now. They work well for him. When I first got sick,
he missed his doctor's appointment to get a refill and did not go for
several weeks and he did not suffer withdrawl, only pain. I think if
you take your meds as prescribed you do not acquire an addiction. It
is the overload that gets you. My son has an addiction to codeine but
it is from the abuse. He would take anywhere from 6 to 8 Lortab 10's
and more if he had them at a time and it didn't take long for him to
become addicted. My doctor said the vicoprofen was a wise choice as
they don't contain tylenol. Just my 2 cents. Love, Peace, Hope &
Prayers for All, Pat
