Hi Livia, Pat, & Everyone Else, Some good points have been made regarding CML and it's effects on us. What might right for one person is not good for someone else. So far I have been lucky in that my side effects off of 800 mg. have been minimal. My life is fairly ordinary. I work most every day, but have taken some days off just to "chill out". I try to excercise at least 3 days a week. I don't over do it. No marathons for me, but I've never been much of a runner. Over all, I'm extremely thankful that Gleevec has knocked me into remission. I also know that I am just beginning the treatment (I've been on Gleevec for 9 months). The future is both encouraging and scary at the same time. While I feel like BMS, AMN, & other future treatments are going to do the job for many people, for those of us in which BMT is an option, it definitley should be considered. Life is a battle, and we must fight the good fight. NEVER GIVE UP!!! God Bless and stay strong!!
