Bill....Before you even consider a BMT there are many questions to ask and other options to consider.  Yes, at 35, your wife is facing the need to consider a BMT but first she needs to see if she has a sibling match.  If not, SEE A CML SPECIALIST and then you will know all the choices that are out there.  If Gleevec fails, there will be other drugs, and are already, that hopefully will keep the disease at bay for many years to come.
My daughter is 33 and doing well on 600 mg. Gleevec.  She won't even begin to discuss BMT as long as the G. is working.
What I am saying is:  do a lot of research and if she does decide at some point on a BMT, make sure you are at a center that does MANY such transplants annually and has a good outcome.
