Everyone/anyone: I need Dr. Druker's email address. I haven't written to him since 2001 and I need his advice about protocol for Gleevec around a surgery. I'm scheduled for surgery (minor) in Nov., and I can't remember how many days prior to/after surgery to forego the Gleevec.
Praise God I'm still in "remission" on 400 mg of Gleevec and have been so for almost four years now. I'm thankful for every day, especially when we are still losing friends to this disease (eg. Mindy ~ she's been gone a year already)
I retired from teaching ~ was granted a disability retirement. I'm so relieved not to have to force myself to go to school every day, even though I loved teaching. It was just too hard to keep up.
