Welcome to the group, but am sorry your mother has CML. My husband, Bob, has been on the BMS drug since January 2004 and has absolutely NO side effects. He reach remission in a very short time and is doing fine on the drug. He is 75 yrs old. He has other medical problems, but his CML is under control and we don't think of it much. He is on 105 mg daily which he takes in the morning. The drug company recently removed the eating guidelines, so that will make it easier for patients, especially the ones taking the drug twice a day.
Hope everything goes well for your mother, and please don't worry too much. This is a CHRONIC disease and can be managed easily.
