Our 14 year old neighbor has been diagnosed with AMML (not AML). Like CML in children, this is extremely uncommon. With my own son, Tony, diagnosed 3 years ago with CML, it is hard to believe two children with rare cases of leukemia living so close together. She is going thru chemo, and having a very difficult time right now. I am trying to help her mom find someone who she can talk with that has the same illness. If anyone knows of anyone - child or adult with this, please contact me. The treatment is so different from CML and Gleevec, that even though I am trying to help and be supportive to their family, they are really dealing with another illness entirely.
