we contacted Binder & Binder (attorneys out of NY) who advertise on TV in Dallas & their response was that Terry would need to not be able to work for close to a year or 12 months before they think re-applying for disability would be feasible.  .....The basic denial from SS stated that Terry can work "some"...even if he can't work all day, nor be able to work the kind of work he could before...or earn the amount of income he could do before he got sick.....basically any work, minimum wage, etc or even if he can only work part-time prevents SS from saying that he is "disabled".....sure wish they would "look" at him....much less ask our doc's opinion!!!!    Our housing authority has a 6 year waiting period & they were satisfied with our doc's recommendation that Terry was disabled!!    oh well!!

anyway, I am going to look in our phone book to see if any attorney in our town advertises for SS cases.   the other argument is why not just the supplemental income as opposed to the disability....we will just have to wait & see

Julie, customer service supervisor rep called from Novartis, they were going to ship the smaller amount, so I had to call back the oncologist nurse & she insisted that she had called in the increase up to 800mg on Friday....so she was supposed to call it in again & if things go well, he should have his shipment in a couple of days depending on how the arctic front hits.

next ??, for those who have insurance through their work.....are any of you able to receive PAP help from Novartis to pay the deductibles or cover the patient's part of the medicine cost???   Terry supposedly has health insurance now through his job...however, they aren't supposed to pay for anything that is a pre-existing condition.....hence no leukemia related stuff....anyway, we are curious.....we are so shocked that they will even insure Terry, so we don't want to rock boats....they even are supposedly allowing him $80,000 of life insurance too.....so, we will see once they realize he is already into catastrophic amount medically if they deny him insurance all together.....He is still driving a school bus, but will fail his  annual physical in January , so then he may lose his job due to his health status ....so we are taking a wait & see attitude.....just wish all of this didn't happen around Christmas....we are really pinching pennies because of his job uncertainty.

Merry Christmas!!!!   at least we will have some snow flurries or ice to make it seem Christmas-sy!!!
