Jeanie,When my husband was in the hospital they gave him Valisone ointment for dry lips. This is the same ointment that hospis gave us to put on my Mothers lips when she was dying from cancer and was so dehydrated.I don't know if you can buy it over the counter or if it something just hospitals use.but it worked well.
