I absolutely find that gleevec interferes with my ability to sleep well. I find that at the 400 mg dose I do not experience insomnia. At 600 mg I have some difficulty, and at 800 mg I have much more of a problem. My oncologist is willing to write a prescription for Ambien, but suggested that I try using Benedryl first. If needed, it take 2 (and every now and then 3) Benedryl as needed, and I have found that to be helpful. I like it because I don't consistently have an insomnia problem, so I can wait to take the Benedryl only if I find that I need it. The Beneryl does not leave me feeling groggy in the morning. It's worth a try!
