Thanks for your advice and opinion. I respect your views on marijuanna,
but I'm also wondering if you have been misinformed about it. There is
no bad chemicals "added" to marijuanna nor does it go through any
processing. There are other things in pot besides THC, but whatever it
is, it is all natural....and God made the plant like he did all the
others. The only processing to it, is hanging it to dry out much the
same way that tobacco must be hung to dry out. When people grow it, the
only thing added to it is fertiziler such as Miracle Grow or such as
this that you would put on your garden vegetables. If I chose to go
this route, I would not even attempt to get some scrappy stuff that has
been grown in my area. Often it is not matured when they culativate it,
they get scared and pull it too soon. All the hype that they write
about that today's marijuanna is so much more potent than that of the
60' and 70's, well that is just not true. They are growing what they
call hydroponic that is grown in water and you add the nutrients to the
water. This is the potent stuff. This is a much more expensive kind.
But if I chose to do this, I would choose the hydroponic and perhaps
use in it cooking such as the brownies. But there are other things you
can cook besides brownies and add pot to it. I'm not concerned with
what is in the pot....my concern is if it is safe to use with the
Gleevec?? and I didn't want to have to smoke it because of my emphysema
in my lungs. Now if I could get a prescription for it and get the kind
given to cancer patients, this would be more potent, and definitely
more effective but the people who do have prescriptions for it, DO
SMOKE it. It helps with the nausea caused by chemo and it does make you
hungry so you want to eat. It is also given for glaucoma and Montel
Williams and other MS patients use it for their disease. I know a lady
in my city that has MS and has a prescription for marijuanna but I
don't think it was given in my state as she has traveled to other
cities and states to treat her MS. They have cafe type places where you
go in with your script, get it filled and can sit down with others and
smoke but this is not in my state.

As for the weight loss issue, my doctor doesn't seem to be too
concerned, not as concerned as I think he should be BUT I guess he
feels that a person who can barely eat and has severe diarhhea is only
expected to loose weight. I do drink Ensure occassionally when I
absolutely cannot eat, but it is not filling enough to my tummy to keep
the Gleevec down when I just drink this.

They also say leukemia is not heredity but my dad's baby sister died
with it when she was 21. A distant cousin of mine, her mother died with
hydokins lymphoma at age 19. I met a woman in a cancer chat room who
has CML, her sister died with AML. So I'm not so sure doctor's know
what causes it or that it is not heredity. I also met a man in the chat
room that is 32 years old and has just come out of Iraq, and has
recently discovered he has CML. He also told me that a friend of his
has a friend that was in the military also and started getting sick and
he too has CML and has been discharged because of it. So I'm assuming
all that the military was exposed to over there is causing this so it
may be more and more leukemia cases as a result of this senseless and
needless war.

Anyway, thanks for your care and concern. I'm reaching out to find out
all I can because I'm desperate for something to work but not go
against me in the process in other ways. Lord knows I've got enough
side effects to deal with now. Thanks.
Love, Peace, Hope & Prayers, Pat
