800 mg side effects: the first few months I had the following: pains in my legs, swollen ankles, rash, gout, heat flashes, teary eyes, 25 lb weight gain, and diarrhea.
2 years later: I take Claritan to keep the rash under control, my hair is thinner, my eyes are puffy in the morning, and I have diarrhea every couple days.
Small price to pay for life!
