Hi to all, I just recieved this cry for help from a friend. He needs advice and I'm not the one with many answers! Could some of you please give some ideas that I might be able to pass along?

Dear Jim,
I hope your myeloid leukemia is stable. I'm writing because my has taken a strange turn and I new some input !
My PCR?FISH just came back and it has risen from 29.8% to 50%. The onco has moved me to 800 mgs. of Gleevec for the next three months and if this dosage doesn't bring things down then it will be time to try Sprycel, which as you may know is 300% stronger than Gleevec.
I have another problem which has surfaced related to the myeloid. Two lesions have come up on my hands; One the right hand was originally diagnosised as Sweets syndrome but a later biospy says that the tissue on both my right hand and left forearm is Pyoderma Grangrenous. The lesion on my right hand, is at the juction of my finger closest to my
thumb and right on top of the knuckle of that finger. High doses of prednisone (60-40mgs. daily) worked to start with (severals weeks ago) but now has little or no effect on the lesions. My dermatologist had another biospy done on Thursday to try and rule out either fungus or bacterial infection as a secondary problem. I had a cold sore come up in the corner of my mouth on Saturday. She put me on 600 mg. of Omnicef. She mentioned wanting to start me on Dapsone in three weeks plus the prednisone. I'm not sure the prednisone is a great idea since my immune system is so surpressed currently.
