I have been off of Gleevec for 7 weeks & I still feel like I am taking it.
(400mg). I had alot of pain while on Gleevec & although the pain is a bit
better it is still quite severe. Gleevec also gave me a rash on the tops of
my arms which is still just as bad as it always was. I am still exhausted &
the last few nights had nausea after my tea. My Q-PCR levels are rising so
my Leukaemia is not being controlled but I still feel the symptons of
Gleevec. I went off Gleevec to see if the pain was perhaps due to some other
cause but I am not sure as I still have the rash etc. I start Sprycel
(dasatinib) in 2 weeks so I will see how I feel then. Personally I do not
think you can take such a strong drug for in my case (3 1/2 years) & have it
out of your system in less than a week. I also suffered from pain on
Interferon. Unfortunatley I think I am one of those patients that is
suseptable to side effects.
