Hi Suzieq,We lived in Crown Point, IN. which was 45 min. away from Chicago. I was one of 8 people that was picked out of 200 people to be in the second study from Novartis. Eight of us were from Chicago land.They supply the drug and picked up the tab for the BMB's, that went on for about 2 years. Then they stopped paying for the BMB's and my insurance picked up from their. After Gleevec was approved by the FDA they ex tented my study for 5 more years. They wanted people from my age bracket. They picked 300 people from all over the world. I only have to get a BMB once a year now so I don't care if I have to drive to Chicago. This way I get the drug free from Northwestern Medical Faculty. Plus I have a lot of friends and family their to see. I lived in the area for 66 years.We moved to Springfield to get away from the Snow, Cold and Cloudy sky's, plus their's a Bass Pro Shop only 5 miles away.
