I think it must be eaier to get on SSI then SSD even for a dissability. When I got on SSI for disibility my Doctor wrote a letter to them and then I had to go see this psychiatrist here for an evaluation and then I was approved.

Hi Richard,I know I am not Steve but I can tell you what I have ran into. I am going on my third appeal with getting SSD, and I am at the hearing stage. The private insurance disability company hired a third party called ALLSUP to get SSD for me. It does not cost me a dime except I will not get much if any of the back pay most get when awarded SSD. I got a call from my agent at ALLSUP that is handling my case, and she explained the reason I was turned down so much is in the intial stages the claims are handled mainly by paper pushers, so when they see I am in remission the just denied me. During the hearing process an actual judge will look at everything.(at least that is what my agent said) Because even though I am in remission I still suffer side effects that will not allow me to work. My agent said the judge should and would take that in mind, and if he does not sign off on it when it hits his desk we would have to go to a court hearing. So yes it can be very discouraging but ha ng in there.Terry
