Is it normal to be anemic while taking gleevec? Last summer before I was diagnosed I was anemic and after I started taking gleevec my hemoglobin level went back to normal. In May of 2006 I went from taking 400 mgs of gleevec to 800 mgs. In July my hemoglobin levels started falling and since I have been anemic. I was just wondering if this was a side effect or what since I'm on a higher dose? I also suffer with neutropina and average a neulasta shot about once every 5 ~ 6 weeks.
