Jeanie:
I remember about six months ago, I had gone out to eat at Steak &
Shake. I love their Chili 5-Way, and that's what I had. As I was
checking out, some man had a mix-up on his order of two coffees to
go.....instead they had made him two chocolate shakes and he didn't
want both, so I told them I would take one. (I never drink chocolate
milkshakes...always plain vanilla). Before leaving the parking lot, I
took my half dosage of Gleevec and left to come home. By the time I
got home, I was so sick it was unreal. I managed to make it to the
closest bathroom and I lost everything. Then, I ended up with dry
heaves on top of that & was sick the rest of the evening. My stomach
hurt for three days afterwards. I decided no more Chili 5-Way for me.
(smile) Don't know if the chocolate shake had anything to do with it or
not, but not even attempting one of those, either. (smile)
Now, I've eaten my chili or other mexican food out and not
bothered.....but I do try to eat it early in the day.....and so far,
I've not had anymore throwing up episodes........it's just been plain
nausea & at times....it's been pretty severe. And, I forget that I
have those Sea Bands......I bought them right after going on Gleevec
and they help a lot. They are the wrist bands one wears for sea
sickness or motion sickness. I found mine at a drug store, but I think
Wal-mart has them now.

Keep Looking Up,
Suzieq
