Hi, Terry. Like you, I have a lot of side effects that have basically
sidelined me and put me on a disability leave from my job (e.g., memory
loss, difficulty focusing, concentrating and comprehending, extreme
fatigue, and a bunch of less important but annoying physical side
effects). I've also been getting benefits from an employer-provided
policy and am in the process of applying for SSD benefits (because the
private insurer understandably wants to be able to lower payments to
me). My question for you is whether your doc has proposed trying
Sprycel to see if there are fewer bad side effects for you. My doctor
has brought it up, but has not really pushed it too hard. I'm nervous
to try anything new because I'm in complete molecular remission on 400
mg. Gleevec (been on it since dx in May 2005) and I'm a bit of the mind
that the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know.
Curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks. Warm regards. David (aka Dov)
