Hi Avis, LDH can be high for a number of reasons and Dona needs to chat with Dr. Cortes on this, 1000 is pretty high. Please let us know what Dr. Cortes says. Roy had high LDH during diagnosis but never anymore and during diagnosis, it is common to have high LDH as this is released from the cell death going on of so many leukemia cells.
Patients with muscle and joint problems have complained of high LDH. Is Dona having any joint pains, etc? You can easily check the liver transaminases from a blood test to see if they are okay. For any liver problems, the AST, bilirubin and all the other liver parameters will go up. LDH is not specific to the liver, it can arise out of many problems. Roy does his liver function tests every 3 months, what about Dona and were they all right recently?
