Dear Chris and Mike, There are 2-3 articles from the doctors that show Gleevec can compromise the immune system. Yuo are very right, Christine.
Roy, though, has not had many coughs and colds after Gleevec compared to before. Before CML, he would always go through colds like 2-3 times a year but after CML and Gleevec, maybe once in two years. Touch wood. Christine, there are also 1-2 articles saying that Gleevec does not compromise the immune system so the question remains open. Our doctor told Roy to take all the flu shots every year, etc. He is not PCRU but has been in stable CCR for over 4 years now.
