After being on Gleevec for one year, my liver enzymes became elevated
in 2004. They shot up to 263, and I had to stop Gleevec for a few
months. Slowly my enzyme numbers decreased and Gleevec was
reintroduced. During this time I started researching liver function
and came across "milk thistle" and its benefits. I have been taking it
for two years, and my liver enzymes are within normal range, and I have
been on 800 mg of Gleevec for two years. I am also PCRU.

There is also another person on the Asian CML site that had an elevated
liver count of 1,000. She was treated with prednisone. Her liver
funcion is now normal.

I hope that this helps.
Phyllis
