Leg, foot and hand cramps are a continuing problem for me. At first I
used calcium and that helped with the leg cramps for a while but the
effect did not last. I can't take quinine because I have tinnitus and
quinine makes that worse. But a pharmacologist I know suggested I try
cilostazol (generic name for Pletal) and it improved things
considerably. From time to tim I still get leg cramps but not nearly
as often nor as severe as they were; also, they're easier to loosen up
either by walking and/or by massage. Ask your onc about trying
cilostazol: mine had no objection to it at all and was so interested
in the results that she now prescribes it for her other Gleevec
patients who can't manage with just calcium. Vivi
