We've all known that nervousness but as you begin the process of
dealing with CML the nervousness should go away. The first thing you
might ask is: 'Is this Oncologist a specialist in CML?' You want
someone who treats a lot of CML patients, not someone who deals
generally with cancers. So you might ask the doctor that question,
straight on. As things progress, and if you are puzzled about
anything, or unsure what something means, or about how to deal with
any side-effects you might have...ask your CML specialist and then, if
you need more info, ask the question on this site and you'll get a lot
of feedback. We've all had to be pro-active to get the information we
needed in order to take care of ourselves. Don't hesitate to ask
questions everywhere and don't accept partial, incomplete or careless
answers from anyone. There are a lot of people here who've learned
to deal and you'll find that they'll be extremely helpful.
