Suzan: Howdee! This lady might have had CLL. CML still has a death rate of 3 months to 6 years if not treated medically. CLL is a slow mover. Unless there are symtoms, you do not treat it at all. Once there are symptoms, it needs to be treated aggressively. The treatment plan of CLL once on medication is only about 3-4 years...then the meds are repeated but with each time, the remission rate becomes smaller and smaller in-between intervals. This is what I have been told in our luekemia/Lyphoma Support group!
