hi all,
i'm curious if anyone knows when novartis' patent/exclusivity rights
on imatinib expire? in other words, when will generic gleevec be on
the market in the US? i know there is a generic version currently
manufactured in india by sunpharma, but obviously, this is not
available here due to patent law. i also know that imatinib is
consider an orphan class drug due to the small size of its target
population, which gives novartis a longer period of exclusivity than
normal. any ideas? i have access to the drug, that is not a problem,
i'm just curious when the extortionary profits novartis is currently
enjoying will decrease to a reasonable level.
best,
daniel
