Dear Jeanie, Agrylin is used by some doctors to lower platelet counts but it can have some unwanted side-effects. I would talk over Hydroxyurea and Agrylin with your doctor if your platelet counts do not come down and note the pros and cons of each drug. I know a caregiver from California whose husband has been on both Hydrea and Agrylin, if you would like to chat with her, let me know. She can share experiences with you.
