hey Jeannie --
I have also been on Gleevec ca four and a half years and I have had about four
eye bleeds. One of them very recently and it was the worst. Even had pain
with it, but the eye doctor at mayo said that it's nothing to worry about.
Rubbing your eye may or may not have caused it. I get them from nothing at
all. Just thought I'd re affirm what you've heard.

  Subject: [CMLHope] eye bleed

  Hi all,
Well, after being on Gleevec for about 41/2 years, I had my first eye bleed.
I think I caused it as my eyes have been itching due to pollen, and I rubbed
my eye.
I know better, but when I looked in the mirror later, there it was, a big red
eye!
It would have really scared me, but thanks to this list, a few years ago,
there was a discussion on eye bleeds. It is not painful and will clear up on
it's on ,but it looks scary.
I have been taking a higher dose of Gleevec due to high platelets.
Thanks a lot for all the input.
  Jeanie<3
