 I was so glad to see the posts on this.  I agree with all that has
been said : mutations testing, dosage requirements and such are all
important.  I have a hard time understanding  the 100 mg dosage his
doctor suggested.  But then I do not know the whole case.  I have the
brochures on gleevc that you could find anywhere on the novarti site
if you would like to read on the protocol for the drug. I would send
it to you if you like so that you don't waste time searching for it.

I took 400 mg for 5 years, had increasingly difficult side effects,
and after a break, began tasigna. I have been incredibly lucky to
remain undetectable for PH+.  Tasigna is a good one for some of the
mutations he may have. At any rate, read all you can, educate yourself
and your husband, and ask lots of questions.  Tasigna is nick named
"super gleevec'.  You have many options but the first one is a clear
explanation from your doctor as to why he has Jim on 100 mg.
