I did not realize how much other CML'rs wondered about it. As for me, I've been scanned and x-rayed etc. more than about half the world's population put together, but I've also been exposed to benzene et. all enough to have wondered about its cancer-causing potential at the time... It seems only my oncologist has a somewhat disturbing lack of curiosity on the topic. I really only intended to pass along the article about granite, radon and radiation. But since we're talking about it, here's my other question; If CML isn't viral in nature like HPV cervical cancer or herpes virus Kaposi Sarcoma then how does it get "resistant" to Gleevec? (I did run that one by my onc. His response, "We just don't know.")

I will never blame the hospital, because I have been lucky staying alive, but I just would like to know... I had a small business and made a few bucks, but I think it cost me in the long run. No cancer in my family. Lots of benzene and toxic's in paint and thinner.
