Thanks for the great info site! I'm a 75 yr. old male Dx with CML last week at the Mayo Clinic and referred back to an Onc. in N.C.for follow- up. I'll be seen next week and started on Gleevec 400mg./day. My WBC's were 17,700 last week with 61% Neuts, 21% Lymphs,3% Monos, 2% Eos, 3 %Basos,2% Metamyelocytes and 8% Myelocytes.NO BLASTS. Plats. 460,000.Hb 13.9, Hct 40.6. Previous Wbc's were 20 to 25,000. BM pos.by FISH for 97.8% BCR/ABL fusion. I have several questions. Last month I noticed several small slightly tender lymph nodes in my neck and axillae, but no other areas. I've read that swollen nodes are rare in CML. The PET scan last week showed pelvis and spine uptake, but none in the nodes, liver or spleen. Is this a problem? Also, I'm on Zocar 20mg per day and I understand this reacts adversely with Gleevec. I've heard Pravachol is better.? Comments. Finally, does anyone know a CML SPECIALIST near Asheville N.C. or in Greenville S.C.? Thank you for your patience with a Newbies first post. I'm very concerned, and would appreciate any other suggestions.Thank Frank
