I know that it is a very frightening time for you. I'm 70 years old, was diagnosed about 10 years ago, and have been on every drug out there. I am now on Tasigna...but was on Gleevec for years. It just stopped working for me. It does work for most people, so don't worry to much. You can ask us any questions, and we'll try our best to answer. I personally don't keep track of my numbers (blood tests, etc.). It's just another thing for me to worry about, so I choose to trust my Oncologist. I've had him for 15 years...since my mastectomy and trust this man with my life. He tells me what I need to know. This works for me. Not everyone has this type of relationship with their Onc. We've become friends. I see him in a week and will let everyone know how it's going.
