Hello my fellow CML friends:
I just wanted to let you all know that after "praising" our insurance a little while back....my husband came in a couple of weeks later and informed me that the insurance company let him know that they were raising their rates 23%. (We own a small business & always re-negotiate around this time of the year & start the new year of yearly coverage at the beginning of December). That will put mine and his as well as my 62 year old brother who works for us right @ $1000 a month each!!!! Our company employees around 23 to 25 and it cannot afford this kind of increase....so, my husband told me that he was shopping for new insurance from different companies......this has made me "nervous". I am trying to not be anxious....but, cannot help it. I know we went through this once before and he was going to go with United Healthcare, they refused to pay for my Gleevec, so we stayed with BC & BS's Anthem. Has anyone else here gone through an insurance change like this after being dx'ed with CML? If so, please give me some insight as to what to expect?
