I was started out on 70mg bid and that was to strong. It affected my bone
marrow. Dr. said it looked like I had had a bone marrow transplant. So
they waited for the marrow to recover and when ithe platlets started to
recover after platlet transfusiuons, I was sent to the Medical College in
Milwlaukee. The Drs confered with mine and decided to try the 20mg with the
thought they could always adjust higher but it was never needed. I have been
on this level for over 3 years now and am pcru most of the time. Sometimes
there is a very small amount of cml visable but 9 times out of 10 I am
undectable. My doctor does a pcr test every 3 months even though he said the
recommended time frame is every 6 months, he just feels better keeping a
close watch on it. That is ok with me. God has blessed me. I am very
fortunate.
Carolyn
