My husband takes 50 mgs per day. He started on 70 mgs but had a bout of pleural effusion and took a 2 week holiday from any drugs and then went back on Sprycel at 50 mgs per day. This method was advised by Dr. Cortes at MD Anderson. He also suffers from a connective tissue disoder so it is hard to tell if the stabbing pains in his upper back/ shoulder are related to Sprycel or to the fact that he is trying to come down on prednisone. The connective tissue disorder (UCTD) was diagnosed years before the CML. He also suffers from neuropothy - again possibly related to his connective tissue issues but the neuropothy has worsened.
