Hi Beth, I'm still in a study at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. I started this study before Gleevec was approved by the FDA, Feb 5th, 2000. So, they supply me with the drug for free. I have to pick the Gleevec up every 6 months and do my blood work and see the Doctor at the same time. They will not mail it to me anymore. Every third month I will do my blood work in Fort Myer's and fax the info back to them. It's worth the trip flying their because it's free. I will have my son pick me up at midway and stay with him for a few days then fly back. If your not to far away from where we will be living at we will have to get to gather for lunch. Will be living at the Palms Monterrey apartments off of Sonoma Dr. Theirs a Ruby Tuesdays across the street. What's funny, is when we were down their a few weeks ago checking this place out we had lunch at Ruby Tuesdays.
