Hi Jim,

I was only on Gleevec a short time, but had muscle cramps ranging from
annoying to so severe that twice I tore muscles. I started taking
calcium suppliments on a regular basis which helped most of the time.
I took a really large dose every day, and it needs to be calcium with
Vit D, since the D is needed to absorb the calcium. For those times
when the calcium wasn't working and the cramps were severe I used a
prescription muscle relaxant called Robaxin. Some folks get drowsy on
that one, not me, but there are many good, safe, non-addictive muscle
relaxants out there. If you try one and don't like it, don't be
afraid to ask for a different one. They all affect different people
differently. I am no longer on Gleevec, but not due to muscle spasms,
I had some other issues with it also. Thanks for sharing your length
of winning the war on CML, gives us newly diagnosed hope for a future!

Keep the Faith,

Peg
