Don't stop taking Gleevec until you know for sure because a year ago I
stopped taking Gleevec for 26 days and after I had my blood work I found out
that their were cancer cells back in my blood. I know their are a few
people that stopped taking it and they were cancer free. But you don't no how
much they were taking. Some people are taking 300, 400, 600, 800 and even
more so their is a great deal of Gleevec in their system. When I first
started my study in Feb of 2000 they started me on 400 mg and then I received
the Gleevec rash. They didn't know at that time what to think of it so
they dropped me down to 300 mg and I've been on 300 mg all these years.
Better check it out before you do something that could cause problems that you
can't reverse.
