The way he phrases this bothers me also.  I mean after just posting
that I've been "none detected" two BCR-ABL tests in a row,  does that
mean I could stand up in my church and announce during "Praises" that
I am now "100% Cancer Free",  nope,  that I would not do.  From the
way things were explained to me in the beginning.....the Gleevec is
working and doing it's job of targeting those cells from forming &
that is what I always remind people when I tell my results.  They
(experts) have also told me that they do not know the "long term" of
being on Gleevec will have with the disease, whether it will just
"control" it or "cure" it.

I'm like you,  I think this gives people a false sense of security.
He should no better being a spokesperson for Gleevec!
