Hi Beth, my first onc would not transfuse unless you were under 8 in your
hemg. I did get under 8 twice and had to have transfusions. Are you
eating lots of iron rich foods? Liver, raisins, red beef, enriched cereals,
cream of wheat is good. I have worked at it and now have my hemg up to 12.4.
My worse was when I was on Tasi.
Good luck Beth,
Jeanie<3

HI Richard and anyone else who may answer this question....I have a
question..I too am very iron deficient, ferritin at 5, hemoglobin at 10....no
iron stores to draw from,...they are considering giving me iron infusions and
I wondered how that worked for you, how much it helped, how quickly to see
the results etc...I have heard mixed reviews...Iron pills, take a long time
and constipate...and I already have that problem from the meds...Thanks.
