Hello fellow CML Survivors: Well, it took 3 weeks, but finally got my results back yesterday. It's been about 2 months now since I was able to cut my dosage of 400mgs. Gleevec to 200mgs. So, my doctor and I was anxious to see if any changes. I am very happy to report a clean "None Detected" all across the board! Whoo-Hoo and Hallelujah!!! I cried tears of happiness. This makes 5 in a row since mid-2010. When I go back in November for next check-up, I am thinking that one might be even more important as more time will have passed, so will be anxious to see if it stays at "0".
On another note, the 8 1/2 years of Gleevec is taking it's tole on my body. I now have Osteoarthritis in my lower spine and both SI joints (and I'm sure elsewhere) bad. My bones & joints are awful as are the Muscle spasms. I'm seeing my Chiropractor regular just so he can keep me up and going. I have one Disc (L-5 & S-1) that is almost bone on bone. He said that later down the road, if I don't won't surgery (& I would rather not), then pain management may be my only option. But, not there yet. Other good news, I'm close to a 40 pound loss!!
