Hi Marty, I am sorry but I didn't mean that I have to have my blood
cleansed now; I was talking about the times that my blood counts went so high
in
the past. No it wasn't the creatinine level that caused me to have my
blood cleansed. It was the high platelet and WBC counts that caused the
cleaning. Sorry about that. I was 5 years on Gleevec and I had my blood
cleansed right after my diagnosis. Then Gleevec stopped working for me and my
platelets and WBC soared once again; blood cleansing again. I was put on
Tasigna and it worked for me for 8 months; Platelets and WBC soared  again;
blood cleansing again because my Onc wouldn't put me on Sprycel. Finally
while
I was in the hospital on huge doses of Gleevec and Hydrea, which wasn't
working, a nurse from the Moffitt Center came in and talked to me asking me
why I wasn't on Sprycel. I told her my onc wouldn't put me on it. She must
have talked to him, because a little later he came in and gave me a
prescription for Sprycel. The hospital I was in didn't have it and acted like
they couldn't get it, so my son took it to Walgreens and they had it in a few
hours. I had more blood cleansing done and was sent home to take my
Sprycel and see what would happen. As I was very unhappy with my onc at that
time, I finally got into Moffitt Cancer Center. They did a couple of Bone
Marrow Aspirations and I was in remission in 3 months. I had never reached
full remission on the other drugs.
I am good now and will have my 3 month check up in July.
Thanks and good luck on your treatments.

Hi Jeanie,

I just can't understand why you need to have your "blood cleaned" with
such a low creatinine level??? Is there some underlying issue that your not
aware of?

My dialysis sessions are boring but I try to keep myself busy. It is
actually a rest for me for four hours because when I am at home I have to fix
everything that is broken. My hot water heater went and I had to replace it.
Then came the dishwasher and I was able to fix that. So, I guess that I am
able to get some rest sitting in that dialysis chair...

Your HGB is good at 13.1 so count your blessings Could be a lot of reasons
your HGB jumped up but don't put a jinx on it.

Hi Mary, Yes I'll take a run hehe. Thanks. My report says it is high so
it was probably only a few points high..My lab says that the high level is
0.93. I think different labs report things differently. How is your
treatments going. I have had to have my blood cleaned 3 times and it is
similar to your dialysis. They put the cleaning tube in my neck. When did
your
creatinine start going up and how did it make you feel? My HMG was about
11 and then it jumped to 13; I was so happy with that. Why do you think the
creatinine jumped up? What does your doctor say about this.

Hi Jeanie,

Your Creatinine level is just about perfect. Normal is up to 1.3 and since
your at 1.03 you have nothing to worry about. If your Creatinine was 103
then you wouldn't be here typing this...

I am currently on dialysis and it had to be started once my Creatinine
reached 5.0 so you have a very very loooooong way to go if at all.

Your Hemoglobin says that your feeling fine because it is at 13.8 When
your kidneys start failing your Hemoglobin will usually drop. Your kidneys
produce a hormone that goes to your bone marrow to help make more Hemoglobin.
So, go out and run around the block a couple of times and your still going
to feel good.

Hi and yes I did make a mistake on reporting my creatinine levels. The
correct number is 1.03 and the normal range is 0.60-0.93 mg/dl. My last
reading was 1/0/ My Bun/Creatinine level is normal at 19 and m oreal is 6-22
(calc) Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Here are my other blood results; most were in the normal range.
WBC 9.8 Normal is 3.8-10.8
RBC 4.63 Normal is 3.80-5.10
HEMOGLOBIN 13.8 NORMAL IS 11/7-15.5
PLATELET COUNT 302 NORMAL 140-400
ABSOLUTE LYMPHOCYTES 3979 HIGH NORMAL IS 850-3900
Everything else is in the normal range.
If anyone would like any more of these results let me know.
I had a lung xray and heart ultrasound. all was normal.
Blessings.

Jeanie, my creatinine is between 1.3 and 1.4, it's been that way for

Hi all, my creatine was up to 103. Should I be worried? Why did you have
to have dialysis? What were your symptoms? My Creatine and bun levels
are normal. I have had my blood cleaned several times. They hook you up
to a cleaning machine and it takes about 2-3 hours. My brother just had to
have it done as he is in the hospital and his kidneys shut down. It is a
little uncomfortable but you can bear it.
Thanks Jeanie<3

Hi Judy,

Sorry to hear about you needing to be on dialysis. Can you tell me what
your Creatinine and Bun levels are? Have they placed an access in your chest
or arm yet? Do you know anything about Peritneial dialysis?

Try not to be to scared because it is just something that you have to do.
If you would like to learn more about it then let me know and I would be
happy to help you. I have been on it for about a year and all it takes is
some getting used to.

Please excuse the tag on I have to have dialisis and I am scared to
death. even more scared than when they told me I had CML could you please
tell me what happens I see the Dr next week Thank you JUDY

Hi Millie,

There is so much to answer I will write in between your lines so I won't
miss anything.

Hi Marty.....Didn't know that you also have a home in PA. I'm between
Tamaqua and Pottsville in a valley called Lewistown. We've been here
since my husband retired from the Navy forty some years ago. It's quiet
and nice living in the country. I love it. Originally I'm from San
Francisco, but it's been a lot of years. This is home now.

YES, I LIVE IN TWO PLACES. ONE AS YOU ALREADY KNOW, IN BOYNTON BEACH IN
SOUTHEASTERN FLORIDA AND MY SECOND HOME IN A SMALL TOWN CALLED LACKAWAXEN
WHICH IS IN PIKE COUNTY RIGHT OFF OF THE DELAWARE RIVER. THIS REGION IS CALLED
THE UPPER DELAWARE REGION AND IT IS TRULY BEAUTIFUL.

BEFORE WE MOVED TO FLORIDA WE USED TO LIVE IN STATEN ISLAND FOR 35 YEARS
AND SINCE WE HAD SMALL CHILDREN AT THE TIME WE DECIDED TO BUY A HOME IN
PENNSYLVANIA SO THE CHILDREN COULD GO THERE FOR VACATIONS. WE WOULD USUALLY GO
UP THERE ON EVERY HOLIDAY AND WEEKENDS. WE HAVE THIS HOUSE FOR MORE THEN
25 YEARS NOW AND LOVE THE SCENERY. OUR HOME IS ACTUALLY CUT INTO THE FORREST
AND WE HAVE ALL OF THE BEAUTIUL DEER COME VISIT US FOR SNACKS THAT WE GIVE
THEM.

We had storms last night and got 2-3 inches of rain in a short time.
The creek overflowed and it scared me for a while, but we're okay.
Allentown got hit hard. I must go down that way on Wed. morning, so I'm
hoping that the weather will cooperate as I have to be there by 10:00. If
you ever get down this way....you would always be welcome to stop by.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INVITATION BUT SINCE I HAVE TO GO TO GET DIALYSIS
TREATMENTS EVERY MON, WED AND FRIDAY IT WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME. I WAS
LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO FIND DIALYSIS CENTER UP HERE IN A TOWN CALLED HONESDALE
WHICH IS ABOUT FOURTY MINUTES AWAY FROM HERE. BEFORE I LEFT FLORIDA I HAD
TO GET A TREATMENT AT 3:00 AM OF FRIDAY MORNING THEN SPENT TWO DAYS ON THE
ROAD DRIVING UP HERE AND THEN ON MONDAY MORNING BACK TOME DIALYSIS
TREATMENT. IT IS NOT FUN BUT I HAVE TO DO IT IN ORDER TO SURVIVE.

Today I'm busy cooking for Memorial Day tomorrow. I am not going
overboard, but will make another pie since the strawberry one is gone. I'll

make a lemon sponge, which they love too. Hope that your Memorial Day is
a good one.

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR A REAL GOOD COOK. STRAWBERRY PIE... YUMMY!!! MY
FAVORITE IS CHERRY OR PECAN PIE. BUT DON'T PUT ANY OF THEM IN FRONT OF ME
BECAUSE I WILL GOBBLE THEM UP

Take care of yourself. I will have blood work done soon and talk to
my doctors. My heart medication lowers my blood pressure and they won't
change that. Like you, I deal with other things besides the CML, so just
thank God that I'm still here and able to do a few things.

YES THANK GOD THAT WE ARE BOTH STILL HERE. I WISH YOU GOOD LUCK ON YOUR
BLOOD TEST.

I'm also Diabetic and so can't have to much pie, etc......:>)))))

WELL I USED TO BE DIABETIC AND HAD A STEM CELL PROCEDURE CONSISTING OF A
LOT OF NEUPOGEN INJECTIONS AND MY DIABETES DISAPPEARED. ALSO THERE IS
ANOTHER REASON. WHEN YOUR KIDNEYS FAIL YOUR BODY PRODUCES MORE INSULIN AND IT
MATOBLIZES IT FASTER. BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT...

Blessings and 18's to you and yours,
Millie

AND RIGHR BACK AT YOU. MANY 18'S TO YOU MILLIE, STAY WELL AND GOD BLESS
YOU.

MARTY
