Excellent question, Rob. My husband, too, is in the process of negotiating the next year's premium. We've been with Blue Cross/Sheild's Anthem for past few years with a high deductible and it costs for each of us a little over 1100$ monthly for coverage. It always scares me when he starts talking with the different insurances and making changes. My Gleevec is now within $200 of being $6000 a month. I keep expecting that I will be getting a letter in the mail telling me that I am going to have to start paying a percentage. So far, I've only had my 25$ co-pay. We own a small business and that is why he starts these negotiations each year at this time for the next year's insurance to see if there might be something a little cheaper each month. Since Mr. Obama is back in for the next 4 years, we can look at ObamaCare going forward. Who knows where this is going to leave people like us with Chronic illnesses that have no cure and we depend upon a very expensive drug to keep us in a medical/drug induced remission & very expensive tests to prove that the drug is working. And, I am reading about how doctors will be leaving their professions and we will be seeing more and more Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistant's instead of Doctors. I have also read that there could be a "Black Market" style of health care for those who want to pay cash for certain medical care or procedures their insurances deny them. I guess we will all find out soon, huh?
