Gleevec appears to have caused a lot of the melanin in my skin to be bleached out. I used to be somewhat pale but now I'm incredibly white and can no longer go out in the sun without heavy-duty protection..and even that is iffy. I grew up in Southern California and used to take it for granted that I could go to the beach or sit out in the sun with no problem. Now, I have to cover up even in winter.
