Angie:

My doctor and I discussed about going off of Gleevec early last year. She
said she was not comfortable with going off completely as studies showed
that more than half that do so have their CML return, losing their
remission. But, she was okay with me reducing how much I take. We went
from the 400mgs. that I had been taking since 2004 to 200 and I've been on
that for the past year with a "none detected" coming back with both check
ups. I went to see her on the 28th of May and waiting for the BCR-ABL test
results to come back and if they show another "none detectable", she said
it would be okay to go to 100mgs. I'm excited about that. Hoping to see
my tests results stay at the "none detected" at that level, too. I was
dx'ed ten years ago this coming January and started Gleevec in February
then. The ride was bumpy for that 1st six to eight months, but finally
leveled out and have been "none detectable" for some time now. Don't want
to risk losing that now when it took so very long to reach.

Keep Looking Up,
Suzieq
