Hi Susan,

I'm so sorry that you had a bad day, but we all do get them and a little crying
relieves the pressure and sometimes really helps. I hope that today has been a
good one for you.

When I was little, and found out that my Grandfather was born in Indiana, I
told everyone that I was an American Indian as I, some how, thought that
everyone that was born in Indiana was Indian. What a disappointment to find
out that he wasn't Indian. Oh well, such is life.

My day has been pretty good. My son, in New Jersey, just called me on his way
home from work. I love talking to him, but feel that talking while you're
driving is a distraction, so I try to make it short. He'll call me again on
Sunday from home. His family just drove from Florida to Myrtle Beach and are
staying there for a few days. The kids don't start school until the 9th, so
they are on their last fling for the summer. Because of "Sandy" they had to go
3 weeks into their summer vacation, so they actually didn't have a long one.

I didn't realize that you lived in Florida for so long. I'm not crazy about
Florida. There are certain places, like St. Augustine, that I like, but my
Father lived in Melbourne and I would visit there. It's to flat for me. I
like the mountains etc. I also love the ocean and spent my teenage years on
the island of Guam. There we had the mountains and the ocean...great weather
too, so the best of everything. My Dad worked for the Navy, so that's how I
got there.

You have a wonderful Labor Day weekend. It will be quiet here as my little
ones won't be here with me. Tomorrow I'll have my son take me to the farm
store and pick up some corn on the cob, and other fresh things. I made a
wonderful peach/raspberry crisp for dessert tonight. It really was good with
the fresh peaches, and fresh raspberries. I hate to see the summer over and
the produce will end too. We do get some things up until Christmas, so not to
bad.

I always enjoy hearing from you.
Prayers, hugs, and 18's to you, my friend,
Millie

  Hi Millie,

I have been quite busy, but today slowed down long enough to have a little
bitty pity party, lol.
I've been preaching to the church members that your attitude determines your
altitude, as we've all probably heard before. But .... at times things catch
up with us, and a little time out clears the air, (or maybe a good cry). Don't
want to share why on here, but it's over now.

I live in Indiana at the northern part, near Notre Dame in Granger, In. (Just
toured ND and could not believe all the changes since we had moved to Fla.) We
moved back here 3 yrs ago after living in Florida for 15 years. Most of our
family is in this area, which is nice. The leaves are beginning to start
cluttering the yard, even though they are still very green. My petunias are on
their last leg. But the neighbor's tomatoes are coming on, yay!

So very sorry about your pain. That clouds everything, so I pray you find a
way to get RID of it.....maybe some stiff pain meds in liquid form would not be
so hard on your liver. I know what you mean about the doctor visits and blood
draws, etc. I go again on Sept. 4th to Chicago.

I spend quite a bit of time on e-mails and facebook, in order to stay up on
the friends' lives, etc. Your e-mails are quite entertaining, so keep em
coming! You and all the others have become good friends here. I'm trying to
leave a good legacy, and know you all are, too. Hope all of you have a good
week and enjoy every day. Happy Labor Day, too!

  18's,

  Susan

  Hi Susan,

Sounds like you've been a very busy lady with your company and all. I know
it helps to take your mind off of things.

My day started off about the same as yesterday with a lot of leg pain, but it
did get better as the day progressed. I still have my left legs full of lumps,
but the pain isn't there, thank God. I didn't call the doctor as I hate to be
doing that all of the time. Sometimes I get so tired of dealing with doctors,
tests, hospitals, blood work, etc. etc. etc. and just want a break from it
all. I'm sure that others feel the same way.

I forget, but somewhere in the back of my mind it seems like you live in PA.
Am I correct. I think your home would be neat. I have spiders in my old
house, and it's above ground. I get the exterminator in every three months to
spray for all of that, plus check for mice and other creatures. I've learned
to live in the country and that's one of the downsides to doing so. I love PA.
I guess it's home to me after living here the greater part of my life. I miss
the ocean though, but have the mountains and other beautiful things to look at.
I don't think I'd ever really be happy anywhere else.

You take care, my friend, and hopefully our messages will continue. I know
that we all have other lives. It's just so good for me to have all of you in
my life.

  Many hugs,
  Millie

    Dear Millie,

I love to read your posts. I have been busy with company for three weeks,
but don't delete anybody before reading. My company went home last Saturday so
I have a little free time as I continue enjoying every day. I'm sincerely
praying for your pain to go away completely. I have to celebrate sister's
birthdays in a couple of hours, but wanted to jot a note. You are very special
to me as are all the others. We definitely are a family these days. Glad the
doctor may have somewhat of a solution with the shots for you. May your days
be filled with joy in the midst of your valleys. It's sure possible! I know
my own joy is in enjoying my days without having to work anymore. No more
working through exhaustion and pain myself! The house is enough to keep up
with. We have a great challenge to keep all the spiders down, as we live in an
underground house called an earth home. Just a little trivia for you to smile
about. :-)

Glad you got to enjoy the Pa. scenery. This summer has been wonderful with
all the rain and the lower temps to make it so enjoyable.

Have a great day, and 18's,

    Susan

Hi....I just in several nice messages. I guess everyone has been busy,
but usually don't go several days without something. It just made me wonder if
I still was connected. It means the world to me to have you all in my life.
For the most part, I'm here in the house. Today was such a treat as my son
took me grocery shopping after my doctors appointment. Guess most people
wouldn't consider that much, but it was for me. He also took me on a tip
through part of Pottsville, PA where they had some beautiful Victorian Homes.
He just loves them and came upon these while working a few months ago, and
wanted me to see them. I don't always feel up to going anywhere, so am
thankful that I was able to do that today. At any rate, thanks for answering
my e-mails. Nadia...it was so nice to hear from you. Keep in touch.
Beth...You're always with me in one way or another. I do need you in my life.
Richard...Thanks for answering and letting me know you're there. I had my
cataracts done a couple of years ago, and it was a great thing. I see so much
better. Marty, my friend, thanks for letting me know that you're there. I'd
be lost without your input and inspiration. I now know that I'm not alone, and
you don't know how good that feels. I'm heading to bed shortly. I was asleep
in my recliner when these all came in. What a way to end my day.

Love, hugs, and 18's to all of you,
      Millie

Hi...haven't heard from any of you, and am wondering where you are,
or if something is wrong that I'm not getting the messages. I went to my
Oncologist today, but didn't learn much as he wants to wait a couple of more
weeks of my being on a half dose of the Tasigna before checking my blood. He
did say that my numbers were up slightly when he took it 3 weeks ago. We
talked about several things, mostly about what can affect my liver and he said
that I could go to pain management and see if they'll do some injections in my
hips, etc. He said that a small amount might go into my liver, but wants me to
be able to sleep better and so I'll give it a try.

I really do miss hearing from all of you, so let me know if I'm
missing your e-mails, or perhaps you haven't been on. You can send things to
my personal e-mail site if you would like to do that. It should be on here
when I send it, but I'll add it here too, and that way you'll have it.
[email protected] Miss you all a lot.
          Love & Hugs, 18's too,
          Millie
