Hi Marty, I wish I could come up to see you. I've been in your area several times in the past. I use to go to a quilt shop in Tunkhannock (sp), and also one in Forty Fort. I was there in the fall the last time and know how beautiful that area is. The two hour trip is more then I can do with the pain that I'm having right now. Perhaps after seeing pain management I'll be able to do it next year. I would love to meet you and your wife. If you are ever in this area, you are more then welcome to come to my home. I live between Pottsville and Tamaqua. The valley I live in is called Lewistown Valley and is a farming community. There is a huge Turkey Farm..Koch's Turkey Farm.. You might be familiar with their turkeys They are all organic, or whatever you call them when they don't have the steroids etc. We also have a huge egg farm, lots of dairy farms and then farms that grow our produce, so I'm a happy person and glad that I live here. When my husband retired from the Navy, I found this old farm house, which had been renovated, and fell in love with the area. We can't see our neighbors and the young cows from the next farm run around across the street. We have lots of wild life and it has been the perfect place for me for over 40 years. I'm a city girl, so I don't know how or why the country appeals to me so much. I originally come from San Francisco, but moved to the South Pacific in my teens, and then back to the SF area where I worked until I married in 1960. Since then I've seen a lot of the world, but nothing compares to my home here. We don't have a farm, just a house in the country, but it's the only place I want to live. The Winters can be hard on me, but I just stock up and stay home when the weather is bad.
Thanks for answering my e-mail. I was afraid that I'd lost my CML buddies and I sure wouldn't want to do that. You and the others mean so much to me. You inspire me to do better and am going to try.
