Scranton isn't far from where I live...about a 45 min drive. My daughter-in-law grew up in Clark Summit, which is in the same area as Scranton. It is a small world, isn't it.
People aren't mean to me Michelle. I don't even think that they know how much they're hurting me. I can no longer leave the house without help...and they were all coming to visit, but that was months ago, and only 1 or 2 have bothered. It does make me sad to be written off this way. As I said, people don't realize how much they hurt you. Actually, as long as I could drive, and take care of things myself, there wasn't a problem. In fact, I thought I had the best of friends. Since developing the liver disease I've been pushed out of their lives. Oh well, maybe it brings home the fact that we're all getting older and by seeing me, reminds them that it could happen to them. I've decided that it's their loss, so I'm coping with it as much as I can. When I've had friends that were ill, needed help, etc. etc. I was always there for them, devoting a lot of my time to making their lives better, but this is what I'm all about. I would never turn my back on a friend, or anyone for that matter. As I said, I'm not going to sit here and feel bad as I know people are different in how they handle things. I went through this when my daughter passed. People would cross the street, store, whatever, or whenever, and avoid me like the plague. They didn't know how to handle it. A big hug would have done so much to help. I'm always sending them to all of you because I truly believe that it helps. I'm blessed to have all of you to talk to, and share things with.
