I was on it for years, and even a double dose of it towards the end before
going on Tasigna. You would think that it is important enough to let patients
know, and perhaps it's because the doctors haven't read it : > (.....I think
that everyone on it should know. I wonder about the Tasigna and some of the
other drugs that we're taking. If you find out anything I'd appreciate your
telling us. I'm not worried about me...At 75, I don't run to fast (I'm in a
wheel chair), and at 85 my husband has probably forgotten what it is. (joke),
but either way I'd be interested in knowing.

Hope that your memorial day has been a good one. Ours is a quiet one today, but
then that's okay with me as I couldn't handle a crowd like I use to.

Hugs,
Millie

Hi Marty and my CML friends, I have a question, maybe the guys have and
answer to my question, but if their are any women that may have the answer just
jump right in. I was checking out Gleevec one drug interaction and at the
bottom of the page I noticed something that I had not seen before. It said,
Imatinib can pass into body fluids (including urine, feces, vomit, semen,
vaginal fluid). For at least 48 hours after you receive a dose, avoid allowing
your body fluids to come into with your hands or other surfaces. Patients and
caregivers should wear rubber gloves while cleaning up body fluids, handing
contaminated trash or laundry or changing diapers. Wash hands before and
after removing gloves. Wash soiled clothing and linens separately from other
laundry.

Body fluids should not be handled by a woman who is pregnant or who may
become pregnant. Use condoms during sexual acclivity to avoid exposure to body
fluids.

Grace and I have been married for over 15 years and of course we have had sex
together. All these years NOT ONE Doctor told us any of this information.
What we could do or not do. Now Grace is worried about this information and so
am I. Has anyone been told or heard of this. I will be making a call to my
Doctor tomorrow morning for sure. If you have any information on this please
email me.

  Thanks,,

  greenie

    Hi Marty and Happy Birthday!
I read your book last night, and I simple loved it!
When you finish it, you should get it published so others can learn from
what you went through.
It's a great story and you tell it with such a passion.
I feel what I went through with my CML journey doesn't compare with the
pain you have endured.
You are truly a faithful warrior, and you lift all of us up as we hear your
updates and advice.
Happy Birthday to your and your wife.
    Blessings,
    Jeanie<3

Well, it's May 21st which is my first and second birthday. I was
actually born on May 21st 1944 and had my bone marrow transplant when
I was 45 years old on May 21st 1989. If you do the math I'm 70 years
      old today.

My wife Shelly celabrated her birthday yesterday May 20th.

      18's,

      Marty
