Hi Skipp, I'm so sorry that you have to go through all of this but as you know we are both still here to talk about it. When I had my bone marrow transplant I had a triple lamina broviac catheter installed into my chest, then it got infected and had to be replaced. Then it got infected again and I almost died. They replaced it with a Hickman catheter and that lasted for several more months.
They couldn't use a picc line because it couldn't handle all of the chemo, whole blood and platelets as well as the actual bone marrow and IV nourishment. Some really bad times for me but there was no other choice at the time. Skip I wish you the very best and may GOD keep on blessing you. You are the perfect example of what 18's represent.
