If users don't care about open formats etc, this doesn't mean they shouldn't
and even more they wouldn't (if someone would take the time to tell them).
Most often people don't know why XML is so much a better format than Word,
HTML, etc - nobody ever tells them. They just get Word at some early stage
(which gets more and more early btw).
I totally agree. My point was that Joe Average doesn't care about the underlying technology. In fact, he could support using XML, but in the end, when his boss is yelling at him to put up the latest content he wants two things:

1.) To post the content with ease
2.) For the content to be presented how he expected it to be

At this point XML, HTML, DOC, PDF, etc all become moot points. That was the point I was trying to make I guess.
